Network Time Foundation 2019 Accomplishments!

2019 was a big year for the Network Time Foundation. New software releases, attendance at global events and growth in memberships were among our many accomplishments. Following is a list of achievements by quarter that we are particularly proud of:

    • Release of NTP 4.2.8 p13

    • Completion of IDT Driver Project (a Renesas Company)

    • 4 NTF -owned NTP Time Servers added to pool

    • Noted Membership Renewals

      • Facebook

      • Cox Communications, Inc.

      • Microchip (formerly Microsemi)

    • Bugs.ntp.org now being served from load balancer/proxy servers

    • Public rsync servers brought up on new infrastructure, in 4 data centers

    • Public bk servers moved to new infrastructure, with mirrors in 4 data centers

    • 4th data center load balancer/proxy server brought online

    • Initiated foundation Code of Conduct

    • Applied for MOSS Track 1 Award

    • IETF-NTP Interim Workgroup Meeting

    • Completed 2018 Financial Review

    • Noted Membership Renewals

      • Meinberg

      • Verizon Media (formerly Oath)

    • Noted donations

      • EndRun Technologies

    • Signed 2 new volunteers

    • Signed 1 new contractor

    • Wrote/Signed off/Published RFC 8633 on Network Time Protocol Best Current Practices

    • Accepted as a member of the Open Source Initiative

    • Attended ISPCS 2019 Portland
