Progress was made on important initiatives and projects at Network Time Foundation throughout the final six months of 2023. The organization grew by nearly every measurement, from the number of hosted projects to staff and community outreach efforts.
Specific accomplishments were:
- Continued development and preparation for the release of ntp-4.2.8p18
- Continued defining and planning of capabilities for ntp-4.4
- Identifying tools and needed functionality for the development of roadmaps for all hosted NTF projects
- LinuxPTP 4.1 released on September 5, 2023 and LinuxPTP 4.2 released in December
- LinuxPTP project mailing lists now hosted by NTF
- Libptpmgmt 1.2 released
- NTF published its first community newsletter
- 2022 ARIN Community Grant - NTP Extension Fields - completed and final report submitted
- ARIN Grant awarded to NTF for the 2nd consecutive year - $20,000
- Harlan Stenn presented at NANOG 89
- NTF Financial review completed on August 29, 2023
- Bitbucket to Forgejo migration completed in August of 2023
- 2022 NTF 990 completed and filed
- 2022 NTF Independent Accountant’s Review Report published
- NTF delivered and installed 30 donated 6T disk drives to the Santa Rosa and Fremont, California data centers
- NTF raised $2130 for its ongoing SSD Appeal which was nearly enough for 3 SSD sets
NTF institutional member renewals in Q3 and Q4 included:

2024 is underway with new projects and plans for the next 12 months, including presentations at upcoming technical conferences and the continued upgrading of all community-facing websites and support systems. Keep an eye out for more exciting announcements!
